A five day Praise & Worship Conference was held from October 31st to the 4th of November. This conference was held by our Pastor Desta Haregot and was intended to urge a praise and worship celebration filled with fire, all for the name Jesus Christ. Great names from the christian music world of Ethiopia and Eritrea were invited, more specifically Yosief Bekele and Kefa Mediksa all the way from Ethiopia, Sisay Abebe from Italy and last but not least the eritrean Yonathan Abraham from the very popular worship duo Sosona.
One of the goals of the Praise & Worship Conference of 2007 was to revive the love for worhiping and praising the Lord through explosive christian music. Unfortunately, christians live at a time where music increasingly has been neglected due to the fear of being influenced by negative and non-christian influences, however, this conference stresses the fact that Psalm 95 tells us to "sing unto the Lord," Psalm 100 directs us to "come before His presence with singing," and that apostle Paul in two of his letters instructs us to "sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs." These are not just suggestions, these are commands from the Holy Scriptures!
For this very reason the Praise & Worship Conference of 2007 was filled with live christian music performances allowing people to worship and praise in an explosive and contagious mannor.
Apart from the praise and worship the conference also held faith-filled messages that challanged christians to trust God and release faith for miracles. On the last day of the conference, sunday the 4th of novemer, many people of various ages and varied backgrounds responded to the call of salvation. Many got saved and accepted Jesus Christ for the very first time. Furthermore, the sunday service, was held with the swedish ministry at Filadelfia kyrka and together eritreans and swedish christians took the holy communion. As a nice end to the conference the Eritrean Full Gospel Church invited the swedish section to a traditional eritrean dinner in which we, the Eritrean Full Gospel Church, had the chance to get to know the swedish members of Filadelfia Kyrka.
